(COOLLIST) Quick Warning
I just wanted to give a warning before this wonderful weekend.
Back in my GaTech days, I headed up an occasional group called NAFFAS
-- North Avenue F* Film Appreciation Society. The F* was replaced by
Foreign, Fantasy, and most often, Farsical. I've always been a big
fan of the spoof movies; _Airplane_, _The Naked Gun_, _Hot Shots!_ are
all good examples.
Last night, I saw a set of clips that Hollywood Video had sent to The
Show With No Name to promote their new film _Spy Hard_ which opens
today. Well, I have to say that these clips were some of the most
painful bits of video I've watched recently.
Leslie Nielsen has lost his sense of comic timing. _Dracula: Dead and
Loving It_ (I loathed it!) was a precursor to this genuinely bad movie
experience.
Just don't go to this film. I'd hate to have you all suffer.
On the other hand, the opening credits are by "Weird Al" Yankovic, so
when it gets to the $1.50 theaters (next week ?), sneak in for that
part, then sneak away to see something else.
