(COOLLIST) April 1st Riots

Well, earlier this morning, I engaged in an act of guerilla television.

We were doing The Show With No Name, which runs from 12:30 AM to 2 AM.
Since it was the 1st of April, we decided to have a bit of fun with
the viewers. About 1:10, we got a show groupie to run onto the set
and tell Charlie that riots had started outside. Since the studio is
in the middle of East Austin, this isn't totally unbelievable. Later,
after a clip and a few phone calls, we had another fake report about
cars in the parking lot being bashed. A few minutes later, the crew
all ran into the studio, making lots of noise, knocking the cameras
up, and then the director put up color bars.

This all was well and good. Live TV, you know. So, we started striking
the set, and a few minutes later the police arrived. They talked to
Charlie, who explained the joke. The guard at the front desk wasn't
amused, however, as several people had called ACTV to see if things were
alright. By this time, central control had killed the program, going back
to the announcements CG's.

Pretty fun, all in all.

Well, back to work for me. I'll be in Atlanta this weekend. Party
announcement coming soon, I hope. Plan on a groovy Saturday night.

Peace, love, and tricks!
