(COOLLIST) June Tidbits

Here are some followups to eariler (CL) postings --

1) The Mountain Dew pager promotion is on. Ads are appearing in many
places, including this months _Spin_. Check it out at
<URL:http://www.dewbeep.com/>. Final price is $34.95 (includes S+H)
plus 10 MD proofs of purchase. That gets you a Renegade numeric pager
plus six months of airtime.

2) The VR helmet was a wash. Yes, its neat, but the display is
pitiful and blurry and nowhere close to immersive. The head motion
sensor is strickly left-right axis. I can see why it failed in the
market and now is surplus.

3) (COOLLIST) Television episode #3 is being written this week and
next. It will be video game heavy -- I hope to interview a guy at
work who was a product manager for some of Motorola's 2600 game ROM
production in the early '80s. I'm going for an olympic theme with
reviews of Track & Field, Decathalon, and Summer Games. I still need
to get the bats on video, and I plan on using lots of MOD files and
interesting visual effects. I'll probably wait until I get my editing
console and SVHS VCR in July before putting this together.

4) I got my ACTV acting premier last Sunday night on The Show With No
Name, as I starred in the opening skit as the guy Max was trying to
teach to rap to pick up girls. Favorite line: "Do I have to call her
bitch?" This week's show looks very interesting, but I'm not going to
give it away just yet. Monday from 0030-0200 on ACTV 16.

5) In case you missed it, the CDA was ruled unconstitutional. This is
a big victory for online freedom, but the battle continues at the
state level. Texas doesn't have any stupid net laws yet, but Georgia
seems to be mucking things up big time.

TTYL!
