Miscellaneous Pictures
The Swedes dress up as witches for Easter and go trick or treating... go figure. And I wore my trusty eskimo hat. (This was the middle of April and had snowed the day before).
Cool people from the Swedish class (clockwise): Me from the US, Chris from Scotland, Sharyn from Australia, Sergio from Italy, and Patricia from Portugal
The Kleiner family invited me for a Swedish Passover Seder.
Gothenburg: This was such an un-PC name for the Chockladbollar (Chocolate balls) that I thought it was an old-saying or a joke until I saw it at a shop.
Meeting Swedish synthpop bands was fun. Here is the lead singer of S.P.O.C.K.
Roskilde: I ran into this guy in 3 different countries. It was really odd. The first time I saw him was at the Exciter release party in Gothenburg, and then I ran into him the next day at the harbor in Oslo. And this final picture was taken when I saw him at Roskilde in Denmark. He has such a characteristic look... much influenced by Nick Cave (he said he was a huge fan of his). One time I was trying on a jacket in a store in a side street in Gothenburg, and I see this guy walk by. Scandinavia is a small place.... And you want to know the WEIRDEST thing... I just saw Nick Cave in the Atlanta Fish Market restaurant in May 2002. Yes, this whole thing is very eerie....
Chalmers Fika (the Friday break with coffee and cake).
This girl was standing in the Paris subway. I wanted to go up to her and say "I don't mean to burst your bubble... but Microsoft SUCKS!"
In '98 I fell in love with the Mini Cooper in France. The new ones just don't compare.
Juergen hosted me in Fontainbleau, France. I thank him for taking the time out of his busy MBA schedule. One of the things I didn't capture on camera was when we went to a chic restaurant in Paris where all the wanna-be models hung out. There was one male model out of 10 at our table... and he was originally from Sweden so that was a conversation starter. Otherwise, the whole thing seemed like an MTV video.
